Hey Frank, Thanks for the comment! Kinda' funny, you wrote something over at Bill's site and my reaction after reading was, "Oh crap, Frank forgot to throw out the 'Back In The Day' flag!" Unfortunately I lost track of which post it was... ;)

Yeah, having a kid really changes your priorities. Let's face it, your kid is probably the first person in your life that ever really needed you. That took some getting used to but I'd prefer to be a good dad and not be available for other things then to have it the other way around. :)

In about a year you'll have a really independent little person who can get most of the food in their own mouths, take care of the other end and say "No" faster then you can finish speaking. Then when the badly named "Terrible Two's" ends, somewhere around 3 years later... you'll be teaching your little tape recorder (kid), through example, how to think and how to live. That's been my experience. Hmmmm... sounds like a good idea for a post... :D

EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Although i am a tad too lazy to actually start and maintain my own blog, I fully understand how relaying my life experience helps me to laugh at myself and in most cases how to "carry" said experience. As you know from reading that "other dudes" blog :) I have seen and done quite a bit. Until now I havent had the inclination to want to share it with the masses in a non confrontational/defensive way. Im waiting on the next two years when I can officially comment on your "dating on the north side of 40"...

Maybe I'll have some war stories, maybe I wont. But the experience of getting there should be worth the anticipation for me.

and as for:All kids are incredible. Given that we know what the, usually, fun steps are to create one it still astounds me that a brand new person can be the end result. If I was an alien I’d be quite perplexed, “You do this and you get THIS?”

I have a 10month old who has seriously curtailed my ability to continue racking up "real talk life experiences" but I couldnt be happier!

but i still have my "back in da day..." memories. lol
